Episode One

Ike: Blessed morning Everyone

Secretary: (smiles) Good Morning Pastor

(Everyone in the room replies the same way in good cheer)

Ike:(walks into the office and followed by his secretary)So Kate What sheep needs saving today.

Secretary:(smiles) for starters Mr. Ojo brought his daughter for deliverance 

Ike:(look amused) What sins did she commit this time

Kate: He said she told him, she’s in love with the new boy in her class. The man looked so scared while telling me this morning, said the Boy charmed his daughter. ( laughs and is joined by Ike)

Ike: Sarah sure knows how to scare her Papa. What did you say to him

Kate: Told him it was just a teenage crush and nothing to worry about but he wasn’t buying it. After much persuation, He agreed to speak with Mr. William the Youth Pastor since you weren’t on sit. (grins)

Ike: (smile) What a great way to begin one day(chuckles as he says this)

Kate: I know right. You got a call from  Mr.micheal concerning the new branch building, Pastor Tim called too, he said the Branch Heads have decided on a date for the Charity function and Finally one From His Excellency, which would you like to return first. (dials a number on the phone she’s with)

Ike: My Father called during working hours that’s strange. Please put a call through to… 

Kate: Done it( hands a ringing phone to him)

Ike: You read my mind. Thank you, Kate. Hello Dad. 

Father: Ikenna Mofe Giwa, why is a The Handset/ phone called it’s the name? No need to reply I’ll tell you why, that because you’re supposed to have it around you, at hand not switched off or forgotten somewhere.

Ike: I’m sorry Dad, It won’t happen again

Father: So you always say, wonder why An Old Man like me is more Knowledgeable about the workings of a phone than A young Man, you’re 30 not 80

Ike:(Laughs) Dad!!!, How are You

Father: Feeling young, Mr. Pastor you’ve forgotten how to great Elders abi

Ike: (Shakes his head will smiling) Good Morning Dad

Father: Good Morning Son, Straight to the reason why I called this morning so you can go back to tend to God’s Flocks. Come Over to the House by 5 PM YOUR Godparents and I would like to have a word with you.

Ike: Now you’ve got me worried, Please can’t you tell me the reason for the meeting now.

         (5:30 pm in Mr.Browns Home)

Mr. Brown: You will love Dubem I tell you, Ike

Ike:(grinning) Of course I will She’s God’s creation and also the Lovely Daughter of my Fav Godparent

Mrs. Tessy:(Squeezes his ear Playfully) Naughty you, we’re the only Godparent you’ve got Ike(everyone in the room laughs)

Mr. Eke: The young man will be searching for a new godmother after that ear squeeze Nkem(he laughs as he says these words) 

Mrs. Tessy:(fingers anger) you’re just jealous because you know I’m the Fav. godparent of the both of us.

Ike:(still in her embrace winks at his godfather and says) She’s right o

Mr. Brown: Oh stop it the both of you(smiling), Ike is trying to distract you all from the matter at hand

Ike: Noooo, I’m just enjoying my grandmother’s attention(pecks her on the cheek)

Mrs. Tessy:(pushes him playfully) Stop it, Ike, I don marry o(winks at him after saying this and then moved to sit  beside her husband) 

Mr. Ekeh: (pulls his wife close and pecks her on the cheek) e no fit try am, I want son-in-law not rival

Ike:(raises hands in mock surrender) Sorry Sir. 

Mrs. Tessy: Seriously Son, you need a wife, you can’t remain a Bachelor you’re a Pastor, not just any yeye Pastor a General overseer, soon tongues will start to wag.

Mr. Brown: That’s right son, you’ve achieved so much at such a young age what else are you waiting for I’m surprised the people in Church haven’t already started talking. 

Mr. Ekeh: Thats because they all Love him but still Son you need to set an example of how many General Overseers have no wife.

Mrs. Tessy: None that I know of ooo

Ike:(Smiles at her with affection)  Okay I’ll consider it but First you need to speak with Dubem and invite her over, let the both of us talk and try to make things work our own way.

Mr.Brown: That’s perfect(the trio rejoice)

(The trio all talk at the same time in a rush, Ike shakes his head and laughs)

Ike: If Dubem is anything like my god mama here I don’t mind.

Mrs. Tessy: (blushing at his words) She’s everything you’ll ever want and more, I promise you Ike(smiling). 

EPISODE TWO 

(Other line rining)

Mrs. Tessy: Hello Adanne, how are you, my dear.

Dubem: Good Evening Mama, I’m fine, how are you and papa

Mrs. Tessy: We thank my dear, your father is not yet back from work.

Dubem: Why why naw, plz tell papa to take it easy o, he shouldn’t be stressing himself like this o

Mrs. Tessy: I will my dear, you know your father. Adanne have you thought about what I told you 2days ago

Dubem: What’s that Mama.

Mrs. Tessy: about Ike naw

Dubem: But Mama naw I told you I’m not interested, I’m already in a serious relationship and you know it

Dubem:(eyes her in anger)

Dubem: Sorry I confided in you o Clarah, when you’re done laughing close the door behind you I’m going to sleep (gets us to leave)

Clara:(pulls her back) I’m sorry naw, Okayy I won’t laugh again(looks funny while holding the laughter and the both of them burst into laughter)

Dubem: I can’t believe I’m even laughing about this, I’ve been so miserable this past few days o since I found out, my mom just dey call me, the woman no want persin rest, Ike this Ike that, all on top ordinary Pastor.

Clara: Ehn Ordinary wetin, babe this guy no be small persin, he’s loaded, Hot and well connected. 

Dubem: Really!!!OMG!!! I’m so not Impressed. Pastor Ordinary Same thing

EPISODE THREE 

(In pastors office, pastor Ike praying for A couple)

Ike: Thank you Lord for answering our prayer. In Jesus gracious name We pray. Amen

Couple: Amen

Mrs. Udoh: Thank you so much pastor, we really needed to hear those words. God Bless you

Ike: Amen, bless you more. Don’t forget all have said.

Mr. Udoh: We won’t pastor. Thank you (they shake hands)

Ike: Thank the Lord more, you can come back anytime you need to talk. May the peace of the Lord be with you.

Couple: Amen, Good day pastor. (they leave)

(Kate comes in with a bemused look on her face) Kate: You know you don’t act like a General Overseer right 

Ike: I do, you just don’t see it(smiles)

Kate: you don’t have to see everyone you know. I could just tell them you’re not on seat, they being trooping in since you came back from the visiting the other branches and you’ve been attending to them, you need to rest, you look so tired.

Ike: Let them in Kate, they’re not the reason for my wry look. (have got other things on my mind)

Kate: I knew you were going to say that, at least Have something to eat first, they’ll understand.

Ike:(Looking reluctant)

Kate: I’ll go out there and tell them you’ve been starving yourself just to see them and they’ll feel bad

(In The Ekeh’s house Saturday by 12 pm)

Dubem: Is anybody home, Mama, Papa

(Comes into the living room with Abu helping her with luggage)

Dubem: Thank you very much, Abu, where is everybody Abu?

(Mr. Ekeh walks before Abu could respond, Abu takes Dubem’s bag to the room)

Mr.Ekeh: Oh my baby, what a surprise (Takes her into his arms for a hug)

Dubem:( laughs)Where is Mama, she bullied me here o.

Ekeh:(laughs)She knows how to drive a msg home, doesn’t she.

Dubem: You know your wife, had to come home o or risk her wrath.

Ekeh: I’m happy you did, You and that brother of yours need to come home more often. 

Dubem:I will, didn’t realise how much I missed You and mom till I got in. Where is she(smiles)

Ekeh: I missed you too Adanne. Your mom will be back soon, she left 2hrs ago to check out a Secret new mall with her friend. (Father and daughter share a knowing look)

Dubme:Ehn Mama and Aunty Sarah shopping, it’s no use then, I better just go in and rest, by the time I wake up Hopefully she’ll be back(father and daughter laugh)

Ekeh:You should eat something first before resting, there’s food in the fridge, just microwave it 

Dubem:I’ll eat later.

Ekeh: Okay, I’ll just sit back here and wait for her while watch the match I missed last week.

Dubem: Okay Dad(smiles)

(Mrs Ekeh in a heated conversation with Dubem)

EPISODE FOUR

(Ike and his friend having a conversation while watching a football match and he gets a surprise Visit)

Ike: Thats was not the match I expected to watch today on my day off

David:Same Bro, like how dey fail the match still dey convince me

Ike:The other team wasn’t even good enough but then again it was a great match, it just reminds me of how David defeated Goliath(he smiles as he says this)

David:(look at him likes he’s crazy)Pastor this no be your church o nor I your member, Really(laughs as he says this) David and Goliath? (Paths him with pity) Guy you need to live more

Ike: Serving the lord is living for me Dave and you need him, try attending one of my service 

David: Try attending one of my clubs Ike(They both look at the each other and the two men start laughing)

Ike and David at the same time: You’re impossible (they shake their heads at the same time as they say the words) 

Ike: I’ll surprise you one day, I’ll come over to your club

David: Mmmm, Na So I hear you, how come we’re friends we’re so different, you a pastor, me the owner of the biggest clubs in the country

Ike: Simply put “God’s Doing”(he laughs)

David: I have to agree with you on that one (he joins him in laughing)

(Ike wondering what’s keeping David decides to go out and find out)

Ike:David what’s keep….(words dies from his mouth as he sees the what’s keeping David and all he could see was her and hearing he’s heartbeat coming alive)

Dubem:(not noticing this stretches out her hands smiles at him and stretches out her hands for a shake) You must be Pastor Ike, your friend here is a great flirt.Hi I’m Dubem Ekeh

(Ike and David look at each other in shock)

Ike:in his mind and heart Mrs.Ekeh words came alive

EPISODE FIVE

(Mrs Ekeh is seen calling Dubem and almost running as she gets into Dubem’s room, then she sweep her in for a bear hug”)

Dubem:(shocked by her mother’s reaction)Mama what is going on(she laughs as her mom hugs and kisses her excitedly)

Mrs.Ekeh:Oh Adanne, Nwayioma, Omalicha , assa

Dubem:(laughs at her mother’s praises)Whats going on mama

Mrs.Ekeh:You’ve made me so happy my daughter

Dubem:(laughs)What have I done, tell me naw(tries to steady her dancing mother)

Mrs.Ekeh:Guess who just called?(she says excitedly)

Dubem:(she smiles)Who, Tell me

Mrs.Ekeh:Ike

Dubem:Pastor Ike(immediately she looks worried)

Mrs.Ekeh: One and only, naughty girl, why didn’t you tell me you had gone to see him, imagine my shook when he called me not to long ago in the guise of missing me, as if(laughs recalling it) naughty boy then finally revealed his reason for calling, My Godson can’t lie to save his soul(smiles happily)

Dubem:(gets her bag and ready to leave)I’m going to see HIM

Dubem:Mom pls send the address to my phone, Bye(kiss her on the cheek and rushes out)

(Ike is Seen reading the Bible and noting some things into a note pad, then he is interrupted by Kate and Dubem rushing into his office)

Kate:I’m sorry Ma you can’t just barge in like that…

(Ike see’s dubem smiles and gets up to stop Kate)

Ike: Kate it’s all…(he is caught of be a slap from Dubem)

Dubem:You Bastard how dare you

Kate:You do you think you are to..

Ike:(rubs he cheek and smiles)Its alright Kate

Kate:But Pastor…

Ike:She’s my Future Wife(Kate looks shocked,dubem look furious at his words)

Ike:leave us for Kate and please hold of all meetings for now

Kate:Ok Pastor(she walks out after giving Dubem a dirty look)

Dubem:How dare you play with my life

Ike:(smiles)Thats the reason for the holy slap you gave me, how I’m I playing with your life

Dubem:Don’t you dare act dumb, I thought we agreed that you were going to tell my parent that you weren’t interested in me but you(she is cut off by him)

(Smiles and moved her to sit on the cushion beside him in the office)

Ike:its alright, so you were saying

Dubem:(She begins to talk)I.. (but changes her mind and gets up suddenly)There’s no need getting to know each other Ike, I just came to tell you I’m in Love with Someone else, he just sent me A msg now, I won’t marry you Pastor Ike(she walks out)

(Ike is left stunned for a few seconds)

Ike:what just happen, She in Love with someone else? Won’t marry me?(bow his head into his palms)No Lord Pleae don’t tempt me this way, I(shocked by the realization) I Love her, What do I do Lord.

EPISODE SIX

(Dubem is in her room working on her laptop, when a call keeps coming and she keeps rejecting it)

Dubem:(look at her phone, sees an unknown number but seem to regonice it)

Mr.Ekeh:I can’t back from my travel to hear this joyios news my friend

Mr.Brown:Finally we’ll be in-laws (he says happily), I never thought it possible for Ike to be so taken with a lady, when he called me to tell me about Dubem himself I was over taken with joy, I had to cut my trip short as soon as I could

Mrs.Ekeh:I’m Sure Shola would be so happy where ever she is right now(sad at the memory)
